A six-day, multi-stakeholder initiative aligns Polytechnic education with industry needs and future-ready skills
Telangana has taken a decisive step toward transforming technical education with the successful conclusion of the Polytechnic Curriculum Overhaul Bootcamp, hosted at IIT Hyderabad. The six-day, high-intensity bootcamp brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academic experts, and grassroots educators to reimagine the future of Polytechnic education in the state.
Designed as an action-driven collaboration platform, the bootcamp focused on giving Polytechnic education a bold new avatar—one that is agile, industry-aligned, and equipped to meet the demands of emerging technologies and evolving workforce needs. Participants worked across disciplines to redesign curriculum frameworks, integrate future-ready skills, and strengthen industry-academia linkages.
The initiative to set a clear vision for systemic reform.was led by
Ms. A. Sridevasena, IAS, Commissioner of Technical Education & Chairperson, SBTET, Telangana
Dr. B.S. Murty Director IIT Hyderabad
Mr. C. Shekar Reddy National Vice Chairman-CII Indian Green Building Council
Mr. Srikanth Talluri, Founder 6D Varsity & Co-Convenor – Education & Skills Panel
The program saw active participation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), IIT Hyderabad faculty, officials from the Department of Technical Education, Government of Telangana, and—most critically—the Principals and Faculty members of Polytechnic institutions, who will be the torchbearers of this transformation on the ground.
By fostering deep collaboration between government, academia, and industry, the bootcamp underscored Telangana’s commitment to building a skilled, employable, and future-ready technical workforce. The outcomes of the program are expected to play a pivotal role in reshaping Polytechnic education, enhancing student employability, and supporting the state’s broader industrial and economic growth agenda.
The convergence of vision, expertise, and execution at IIT Hyderabad marks a significant milestone in Telangana’s journey toward becoming a national model for technical education reform.
